as well as the security of University facilities and safekeeping and protection of University property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities include the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Conducting foot and vehicle patrol.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Inspection of buildings (i.e. for signs of fire\/crime\/lighting malfunctioning and dangers of any sort<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Locking\/unlocking buildings and offices<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Checking whether security alarms are functioning (i.e. activated and de-activated)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Responding to alarms and emergencies according to the prescribed procedure<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Reporting regularly to supervisor and counterparts<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Escorting staff\/students around and between campuses<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Manning static posts (libraries\/residence\/exit points)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Performing access control duties as instructed<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Perform access control functions as per prescribed procedure<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Perform any one (or more if necessary) of the \u2018specialist\u2019 functions required (e.g. manning the central office or driving)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Assist visitors by directing them to the correct locations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Participate in training sessions including parade and other activities<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Perform any other tasks\/activities which fall within the general function of the department as determined by the supervisor<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Perform shift work as detailed by the superiors<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;
