Confirmed coronavirus cases in South Africa pass 550,000 as deaths pass 10,000
Coronavirus related deaths in South Africa have passed 10,000 while the overall confirmed cases are over 555,000.
Health Minister Dr. Zweli Mkhize has announced on Saturday evening (08 August) that the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases is 553,188, while the total number of deaths is 10,210 and the total number of recoveries is 404 568.
That means that the total number of Active cases is now standing at 138,410.

As it stands, cases worldwide are approximately 19.7 million while Covid-29 related deaths are approximately 727,000.
