A University of KwaZulu-Natal student, Sinethemba Ndlovu, has died in hospital after she was stabbed as she was leaving the eighth annual Msinga Driftkhana event on Saturday night.

Ndlovu is believed to have been working as an as an event hostess at Driftkhana event in Msinga before her attack.

It is alleged that a man forced himself on Ndlovu as she and a few co-hostesses were exiting the venue.

A man then brutally stabbed Ndlovu, after she allegedly refused to have sex with him and she was rushed to the hospital, and she later died in hospital on Sunday morning.

According to police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, “she sustained two stab wounds below the left armpit and stomach. She was taken to hospital for medical attention and she died in hospital”.

The Msinga Driftkhana organisers stated “It’s sad to have lost such a young woman who had so much potential in her life, we are still in shock as to what type of human being would do this to a defenceless and unarmed woman.”

#RIPSne messages have been pouring in on Twitter with people calling for the man responsible for this murder to be called out.
