Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of attacking midfielder Patrick “Tito” Maswanganyi, with the 28-year-old completing a move to Bahrain Premier League side Alkhaldiya Sports Club.

Maswanganyi had been at the centre of transfer speculation over the past few days after he was surprisingly left out of Pirates’ squad for their MTN8 semi-final first-leg victory over Sekhukhune United.

The midfielder leaves after establishing himself as a popular figure among Pirates supporters. He was also one of the club’s attacking contributors during their recent trophy-winning campaigns.
His departure comes shortly after the exit of Relebohile Mofokeng, meaning Pirates have now lost two creative attacking players during the current transfer window.
Maswanganyi’s move to Bahrain represents a new chapter in his career, with the player now set to continue his football journey outside South Africa.
