PowerBall is drawn every Tuesday and Friday. Players choose five main numbers from 1 to 50 plus a PowerBall from 1 to 16, drawn from a separate machine - which is why the PowerBall can repeat one of the main numbers.

PowerBall XTRA
The winning PowerBall XTRA numbers are 03, 04, 16, 35 and 38, with a powerball of 15.

PowerBall XTRA is the add-on game that replaced PowerBall Plus in June 2026. It uses the same numbers you played in the main draw and is drawn straight afterwards. It also has a Jackpot Cascade rule: if nobody matches everything in the last draw of a calendar month, the jackpot is shared among Division 2 winners instead of rolling over.
A board costs R5.00 per board, on top of a PowerBall entry. The odds of matching every main number are approximately 1 in 33 900 160.
How to check your ticket
Compare the numbers on your ticket against the numbers above. The order they were drawn in does not matter - only which numbers came out. If you played an add-on game, check that section separately: it is a different draw using the same numbers you chose.
Prizes are paid across several divisions, not only the jackpot, so it is worth checking even if you have matched only two or three numbers.
Claiming a prize
Smaller prizes can be claimed at any licensed National Lottery retailer. Larger amounts must be claimed at a regional lottery office or through the channel you bought the ticket on, and you will need the original ticket and your ID. Lottery winnings are not taxed as income in South Africa. There is a deadline for claiming, so do not sit on a winning ticket.
